The froggy way of attracting a mate (i.e. feeling strong and attractive) involves puffing up like a peacock. By filling up his lungs and opening up into song, the frog pumps himself up and calls out to the world (and little girl frogs) around him.
I am on very temporary bed-rest, which is a lot less lovely than I thought it would be. I’m not doing a great job of actually staying in bed, but I’m trying. I’m trying to wiggle out of commitments that are long, stressful or stair-filled; but allow myself a little time on my feet for social engagements. Balance…
Still, I was feeling sorry for myself this morning. Suddenly, I conjured an image of my little frog totem puffed up and proud. I got out of bed, took a shower, put on some nice clothes and makeup (even earrings) and then went back to my bedroom post. What a difference a little peacock-ery makes!
Once again, the weird little frog has inspired a more elegant way around an unremarkable, mildly annoying event in my life. Like Yoda, E.T., and Ghandi, sometimes divine inspiration comes in the weirdest packages…
