My husband and I are musicians. And we’re parents. When we are onstage, we do our best to really be ON stage. But all our “backstage” experiences with our son (our little frog) deeply affect who we are as people, thus musicians. Recent insights:

Today I held Nigel as he drifted off to a nap. We were both bathed in gentle sunlight, so I could really see how much thicker and redder his hair has become. But he still has fine baby hair, so there is plenty of sweet scalp on view.
For a moment, I saw Nigel as a little old man, his hair thin again after a lifetime beyond what I will ever know (I fervently hope). Sitting quietly, will he enjoy countless joyous memories? Will he feel content? Will he be fulfilled?
