About Shannon & Leap
Whether you're a prolific artist or just finding your own expressive voice--and whether you have kids or not--you're bound to have hit some challenges. Please, I can't be alone.
I'm an independent musician/parent searching for BALANCE, at home and onstage. Here, on my virtual lily pad, I share road-tested successes and failures. Stuff I've learned and tried with my husband and son on four continents.
By sharing my thoughts and guest posts, I'm hoping to build a small refuge of reassurance, with helpful strategies on finding serenity and ease.

Saw Nigel hanging out Mayfair in Cambridge the other day… Oh, yeah, he had his dad with him too! What a lovely baby! Congrats!
When you played Caffe Lena's recently, and you brought Nigel up on stage for the last number, I almost pulled out the camera to snap a picture. But, I didn't, as it seems kind of, um…. pushy? to go around taking pictures of other people's kids. But now I wish I had taken a picture–you could have used it in that book! “Nigel's first appearance at Lena's.” Oh well, hopefully someone else got that photo-op.
Ha! Not sure anybody got a shot of tonight's show in New Hampshire either… and tonight Matt played with Nigel on his back for the entire first half. Yes, lots of trial and, um, hilarity?
The babe usually reflects the parents…kinda like a pet!…so, I can't imagine a more wonderful life than one filled with parents, music, movement, experiences and mainly the knowledge that you so unconditionally loved; where the parents love what they are doing and doing what they love…parenting and making music. All will go as your karma directs dear darling relatives. Keep him dry and fed…he'll find he wants to be a good boy! Love, A.A.
